Tale of the Tape: Philadelphia 76ers (2-1) (2-1 ATS) vs. New York Knicks (2-1) (2-1 ATS)
It is tough to say what the state of the 76ers as a team is right now. With all the drama surrounding the Ben Simmons situation, one would expect a broken locker room. They appear to be competing as a unit on the floor, however, they are coming of a big win over the Thunder in Oklahoma City that had Seth Curry go off for 28 points.
The Knicks started their season with a very impressive overtime win at home over the Boston Celtics and they have seldom turned around from there. Although coming off a home loss against the Magic (2nd half of a back-to-back), the Knicks have New York City buzzing with excitement while competing in a tough Atlantic Division. Julius Randle is averaging 28.7 ppg in the early going and he is receiving from RJ Barrett and the resurgence of Derrick Rose.
What’s the Play?
It is worth noting 76ers star Joel Embiid is Questionable tonight with right-knee soreness. This is the same knee that he tore his meniscus in late last year. This is essentially a pick ‘em game, but I want to look at the total. The on/off the floor stats on Joel Embid are pretty significant on offense and defense. His status should be checked and confirmed before making any bets on this game.
I understand having the concern for Joel when he hits the deck due to his injury history but commentating a game and saying that you “couldn’t care less” about another players health is extremely poor #Giddey #Embiid https://t.co/8dukCC1q72
