Baltimore Ravens

Ravens vs Buccaneers preview | News Article by Inspin.com

Looking at the schedule before the season, this was one of the most intriguing Thursday-night football games of the year.

Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit have to be more excited for this game than the last few weeks, even if it has lost its luster a little bit as the Buccaneers have lost four of their last 5 games.

The Ravens have looked great in stretches, but have also shown some serious vulnerabilities. This game is going to be important for both of these teams leading into their mini-byes.

The Buccaneers are coming off of potentially the worst game of the Tom Brady era in Charlotte last weekend. There have been serious issues with Tampa this year with Brady exploding on the sideline, dropped touchdowns, injuries, and the inability to get offenses off the field.

Despite all of their issues, the Buccaneers are tied for first in their division, as the NFC South has been horrific this season. They are currently tied with the Atlanta Falcons for first place.

The Ravens have struggled at times as well. They have 3 losses in games where they had a lead in the last 5 minutes of the game. They are also currently in first place and tied with the Cincinnati Bengals at 4-3. The Ravens have trailed for 2 minutes for during their 3 losses, and have faced the hardest schedule in the NFL so far. They are coming off a big win against the browns last week.

The Buccaneers had high expectations this year, but their offensive line has been woeful this year. They finished 13-4 last year, but they cannot block anyone right now. They haven’t been able to stay healthy at wide receiver either.

The biggest challenge this game is going to be for the Buccaneer’s rushing defense facing the emerging running game of the Ravens. Super Freak Lamar Jackson has had some MVP-level moments this year, and with the running backs getting healthy slowly they should be able to run the ball on Thursday night. The designed QB runs have been devastating for opponents’ defenses so far.

Jackson is averaging over 7 yards a tote. The Raven’s defense isn’t the same as we all think it is either. They are full of stars, but they are struggling to get people off the field on third down at times.

Both of these teams are desperate to get this win on Thursday night, and please pray for a touchdown early so Al Michaels survives.
