Detroit Red Wings vs Los Angeles Kings Preview | News Article by Inspin.com

The Detroit Red Wings will travel to Los Angeles to face the Kings at the Crypto.com Arena in what may be the game of the night.

This should make for an interesting matchup, as these teams are yet to face each other and play similarly well to one another.

The Red Wings are playing strong hockey but have lost their last two games. Their most recent loss came against the New York Rangers. It may go down as their worst loss of the season, as they were crushed 8-2. The game was quite even for the first two periods.

Detroit took a 2-1 lead with 7:33 gone in the second, but a Chris Kreider power play goal a few minutes later tied it up at two. A flip must have switched for the Rangers in the third period, as they scored six goals in a little over ten minutes.

Adam Fox scored the first goal 6:02 into the third. Barclay Goodrow, Mika Zibanejad, and Julien Gauthier each scored one goal in the next few minutes and the Rangers had a 6-2 lead. New York tacked on two more goals and left Detroit happy.

The Kings have had a good week and are on a three-game winning streak. Their previous win came against the Chicago Blackhawks. It was a low-scoring affair, as the Kings only won 2-1. Chicago’s Taylor Raddysh scored the first goal of the game late in the first period, but LA’s Phillip Danault tied it up early in the second.

Neither team managed to score for the rest of regulation. The game looked like it was headed for a shootout until Kevin Fiala banged in a one-timer off a Phillip Danault pass with 1.4 seconds left.

This game will be a close one, and the Kings will emerge victorious. Los Angeles does not have great goaltending, but they have momentum and a decent offense. In addition, they are a lot healthier than the Red Wings. The Kings will only be without Alex Iafallo, while the Red Wings will be missing Robby Fabbri, Matt Luff, Tyler Bertuzzi, and possibly Oscar Sundqvist and Elmer Soderblom.

If you combine the Kings’ momentum, stronger offense, and healthier squad, you can see why they will win this inter-conference battle.

My Prediction: Kings 4, Red Wings 3

The INSPIN simulation model, which simulates every NHL game thousands’ of times, is up +38.5 units over the last three years. We have released 388 total games with 209 WINS and 179 losses ATS for a win % of 53.87%. A $100 bettor of our NHL would have netted a profit of $3,850 and, a $1,000 bettor would have won $38,500 just on the NHL picks.
