The current iteration of the Philadelphia 76ers that the world has come to know — the culmination of a long and arduous Process — is on the brink of a complete collapse.
On the surface, it seems that the Sixers are really only in danger of losing one of their key pieces, that being James Harden who has gone on record with his disdain for the organization multiple times throughout the course of this offseason.
While the Beard is the most likely component of the Philadelphia core to be shown the door next, he’s not the only one who could be on a different team come tipoff, or at least by the trade deadline. Before getting into the pieces that are current flight risks, it’s important to note those who have already made their way out of Philly.
Gone is former Head Coach Doc Rivers, dismissed after another epic postseason collapse in which he failed to capitalize on a 3-2 series lead that his team secured in the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Boston Celtics.
Philadelphia was able to replace him with former championship play-caller, Nick Nurse, who’s creative offensive sets will be a breath of fresh air for fans who grew tired of watching Rivers’s stagnant, isolation-heavy offense.
While Philly was able to steal Nurse away from the Toronto Raptors, the Six got their revenge by signing Jalen McDaniels away from the Sixers in free agency — a player who was lauded as a key trade deadline acquisition just last season.
Lastly, the Sixers also lost sharpshooter Georges Niang this offseason, who signed with a conference rival in the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Now, not only does Harden’s desire to leave the team affect his own status with the Sixers, it also plays a heavy hand in the futures of P.J. Tucker, Danuel House Jr., and Daryl Morey with the organization.
Tucker and House were both brought in due to their past relationships with Harden and Morey, so if the Beard were to be traded away, it’s likely that Tucker and House could be going with him.
Harden, in his latest offseason fiasco, publicly called out Daryl Morey as a liar, who has turned him off from the Sixers. Philadelphia could very well choose the Beard over Morey, who has had his fair share of controversy in the past, as well, and was also rumored to be on the hot seat last season.
Lastly, this latest offseason drama could be final straw for Joel Embiid, who has dealt with a shakier front office and more internal turmoil than almost any other superstar in the league.
James Harden has been fined $100,000 by the NBA for his public comments about Morey/76ers last week.
