The Seattle Seahawks will take on the San Francisco 49ers in one of two Wild Card games this Saturday.
The Seahawks barely slipped into the Playoffs with a 9-8 record, but two wins to end the season pushed them into the seven seed.
On the other side, the 49ers had an impressive season and took the second seed in the NFC with a 13-4 record.
The Seahawks were not expected to make the Playoffs after trading Russell Wilson in the offseason.
However, veteran Geno Smith stepped up to the task and performed much better than Wilson did this season.
After a 2-3 start, the Seahawks won four in a row. The rest of the season was up and down, but a 19-16 overtime win against the Los Angeles Rams got them in the Playoffs.
The San Francisco 49ers had a slow start and were 3-4 through seven weeks. However, San Francisco proceeded to go on a ten-game winning streak. They finished their season on an incredibly high note and crushed the Arizona Cardinals 38-13.
Brock Purdy only threw for 178 yards but threw three touchdowns. Running back Elijah Mitchell excelled and ran for 55 yards and two touchdowns on five carries. Defensively, the 49ers also stepped up and had three interceptions.
The Seahawks are a fun team, but I would not bet on them. They are facing a 49ers squad that is arguably a top-five team. In addition, the 49ers are playing at home. The 49ers have only lost one game at home this season, and it was against the Kansas City Chiefs.
San Francisco is a dominant force on the road but even better at home.
It is also worth noting that the 49ers have a much better team than the Seahawks (even without Trey Lance and Jimmy Garropolo) and beat the Seahawks twice this season. Their first win was a 27-7 rout in Week 2, and their second win was a 21-13 defensive battle in Week 15.
In regards to the 49ers roster, they have an excellent run game with Elijah Mitchell and Christian McCaffrey, and Brock Purdy is on a roll. Bet on San Francisco.
My Prediction: San Francisco 27, Seattle 17
